Agento® I.C. Endotracheal Tube

The Agento® I.C. silver-coated endotracheal tube (ETT) is a scientifically proven, ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) preventive device for patients at risk of intubation for 24 hours or longer that minimizes user dependence. In a multicenter clinical trial comparing the silver-coated device to an uncoated tube, the percentage of patients who developed microbiologically confirmed VAP was reduced by 36% for those that received the Agento® I.C. silver-coated ETT.

Outcomes also showed that the Agento® I.C. silver-coated endotracheal tube was associated with a 48% relative risk reduction in microbiologically confirmed VAP incidence within 10 days of intubation. The Agento® I.C. silver-coated ETT received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance for marketing on November 6, 2007.
